A new report out by no less than the renowned global consulting firm McKinsey & Company finds that when it comes to online acquisition of new customers, email is still by far your best bet.
The McKinsey report finds that:
“91 percent of all US consumers still use e-mail daily, and the rate at which e-mails prompt purchases is not only estimated to be at least three times that of social media, but the average order value is also 17 percent higher.”
Data amongst Spake Media clients has borne out these results time and time again.
While there is obvious upsides to social media channels like Twitter and Facebook for brand awareness and the like, when it comes to actually getting people to your website and doing what it is you want them to do (i.e. buy, donate or join), email remains far and away the most effective.
